One of the biggest wind turbine parks in Baltic states starts it’s operations. The wind power plant park in Didšilių-Rudynių villages (Šilutė district) will be completed in eight months. Construction began in April and is scheduled to end in the beginning of December.

“Rapid expansion of wind energy will significantly contribute to strategic goal of Lithuania – to produce 23 percent of all required energy in the country from renewable sources“, says managing director of JSC “Vėjų spektras” Alvydas Naujėkas.

All investments to the park reaches 142 million litas. 60 million kWh of energy is planned to be produced annually. The wind turbines for the project were provided by one of the most recognized manufacturers in the market – German company “Enercon GmbH”.

Project was accomplished by numerous companies and specialists. It was financed by JSC “Swedbank lizingas”, financial advisories were JSC “GILD Corporate Finance”. Planning was implemented by JSC “Kita kryptis” and JSC “Tiltų ekspertų centras”. Compliance with electric grid was implemented by JSC “Enerteka”. “The fact that all of the partners and contractors work on schedule and do not exceed planned budgets makes us optimistic“, says Mr. Naujėkas.

This project is second large renewable energy project implemented by JSC “Vėjų spektras”. First 30 MW wind turbine park was constructed in 2007 in Kiaulekiai, Kveciai and Rūdaičiai villages, Kretinga district. Investments in the first project were 130 million litas and annual energy production reached 75 million kWh.
